Well, I've managed to make a bit of a start on taking the cossie back to bits again so i can do the small leaks and check out how everything is going after 500miles. Firstly the prop comes out, slightly worrying mind, seeing as how the center bolts were not what I'd call tight, still the props in good condition i suppose!!Firstly one of the problems is water leaks on the turbo banjos, it took me ages to track down where the water was going, because obviously the water was evaporating pretty quickly off the hot turbo, it only became apparent when you start noticing the deposits left by dryed up coolant, which you may just be able to see in this picture. Also in the same area is a slight blow on the exhaust manifold second joint which you can just about make out on the pic. Its then time to start taking a few bits off, so i can get to the bits that need cleaning or resealing. ] What has really annoyed me though is that the paint on this side of the block has bubbled and started to peel, its not just down to heat from the turbo, as its all along the block, and patchy at best, looks like thats gonna need cleaning off and repainting!!Finally the only new bits that have turned up are the front and rear gearbox seals, I'm still waiting for the oil,new sump gasket set and a few other bits and bobs to be getting on with.

Well, no the block ain't powdercoated, an obviously it'd involve a stripdown to get it done so i'm gonna clean it up, try and remove the infected bits Pete!! And repaint it, hopefully it'll last a bit better this time. Only problem i've got now is that my hours at work are changing, so i'm gonna lose half of my weekly free time to work on the bloody thing!! Still i suppose i haven't got toooooooooo much to do.

Well, as I've mentioned to a few people in the SRSOC i haven't had any time at all to do anything on the RS for some time, between working and getting on with the house and garden, its had to be put to one side!!
Well i have managed to get a new gasket for the sump, a cometic one no less!!!The gearbox is out and ready for the new seals that were shown above.Thats about all I've managed to do at he moment I'm afraid, on the plus side the rest of the underside is looking fairly good (if abit dirty!!) really, considering it has been used, albeit briefly, in all weathers! The exhaust has been blowing slightly on the rear joint as you can just make out in this pic.I would love to say that its all gonna be back together soon, but like i say i just haven;t got the time at the moment, the only thing i can say at the moment is that this car is never gonna appear in any mags as a 'part finished project for sale'
